Something For Everyone

Short and sweet and to the point!

Deer Head bookends
dated 1950, made of pot metal.

Full receipt booklet
for baby chicks
 (notice the date 194_).

Handmade wood bird dog.

Wonderful cardboard tomatoes box.

As you can tell I've been at it again. I can't wait till junk season bust wide open and the van is so full of stuff that it's in my lap and falling out when I open the door.
Nothing like a hot humid day in the south, a field of tall grass and a pile... no not that... I was going to say junk a pile of junk!

  4. What wonderful finds you have there! My hubby's grampa owned a big chicken hatchery here and I wish they had saved a couple of those old receipt books when they cleared out the old warehouse. You did good!!! xo Diana

  5. The Harlow's chicken farm in right across the field from me here in Glendale. They've raised chickens for years and sold eggs. How cute to see the receipt book. I see the receipt book has Glasgow on it, but I'm sure it's the same people.

  8. I love those bookends. Wonderful. Got a laugh for the bird dog.:):) Thought your little paper basket would look good on a picnic table, with napkins and plastic spoons/forks. Smiles to you, Susie(She Junks)

  15. Nice collection of animals. Thanks for visiting my post today. Do try to squeeze out some time to try Picnik collages for making headers. It is truly fun once you get things figured out (they have a quick tutorial too). I know it is disappearing around April 18th but why not try it out.

Headers in Picnik - pick 3 to 5 pictures (crop if needed), save to desktop. Upload them in Picnik. From Basic collages pick 3 to 5 narrow collage as your base (or 3-5 squares). Drag the uploaded pictures in to the spaces and arrange until they suit you. You can change the colour of the border. I usually pick white. Save as High and in EDIT add frames. I like Reflection because it gives me a lot of space to add TEXT. Get your colours to suit your pictures and add your text etc. Save about 1110 pixels wide (or 1100). Upload into your HEADER. If it doesn't fit go back and repeat and choose a bit larger or smaller pixel. Keep notes on what pixel size works for your header. I find 38% is a good number for resizing the pixels (it is a choice when saving in Picnik). Fun to learn. PicMonkey will most likely have a very similar collage feature (hope hope hope) when they add that to their just released today PicMonkey which works somewhat like Picnik with editing, frames, text and some fun stuff that I don't use but kids will likely love.
